Audition preparations.

 

Auditions will be held at Brightstone Theatre on September 11 & 12.

This audition is open to anyone who is in first grade and older.

If you are unable to audition on these dates, please contact us via email at brightstoneproductions@yahoo.com by Sunday, September 5.

You will need to bring the conflict calendar provided below. Please fill it out and bring it with you to auditions. We will also have paper copies at auditions if you prefer to wait to fill it out.

Must sing 30sec-1min of a prepared piece of music to a karaoke track on an electronic device. (You may bring sheet music if you wish to have live accompaniment. We will provide an accompanist.)

Please wear jazz or comfortable shoes and for the dance portion of the audition.

You might be asked to read from the script.

Georgie: age 15, leader, tough with tender heart

Stewart: age 14, challenges for leadership

Harvey: age 11, cut-up of the group

Clara: age 10, motherly; believes that her parents will return for her

Lily: age 6, Georgie’s little sister; lame in one leg

The Honeycutts: (Jonas and Marie), mid to late 30’s, childless

Brigita: age 16, Latvian child who works in diner with her brother

Oskar: age 15, Brigita’s brother

Officers Mole, Lawrence and Curtis: eager but bumbling police officers

Viola Pillow: headmistress of the Manhattan School for Orphans, motherly

Mayor Tisdale: mayor of NYC

Vendor: Brooklyn born and bred, of Asian descent; pretends to be old, crippled and have thick accent

Chaz Trillingsley: famous Jazz singer

Jerry Edwards: radio announcer
