Spotlight on Creativity: Fox Den Third Space Brings New Opportunities to Watkinsville
Happy January! This month, The Stage Oconee would like to feature creative spaces in our community. There are more being developed and opening every day, and we’d love to spotlight the myriad opportunities that are available for all ages to get their creative juices flowing! This month, we’d like to feature Fox Den Third Space. This new maker space is anticipating opening in May. We spoke with the owner/operator, Tara Massey, and she shared all the details with us!
Fox Den Third Space is excited to announce its upcoming opening in Watkinsville at 1052 Moreland Heights Rd. We anticipate opening our doors in May with camps starting in June. Our 3,600 sq ft space will be open 7 days a week. We will offer a variety of activities and amenities, including classes, clubs, weekly movie nights, weekly teen nights, and general use of our makerspace, library, teen lounge, and bouldering wall. Additionally, Fox Den Third Space will host birthday parties, family potlucks, and extended game day programming. We welcome children in grades K-high school to drop in or become members.
At Fox Den Third Space, our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can connect, socialize, and grow. We believe that children need a "third space" beyond their homes and schools, a place where they can develop independence and form meaningful relationships.
The inspiration for Fox Den Third Space comes from years of experience working within the homeschool community. Through event planning, teaching, and co-founding a nonprofit homeschool community, Tara Massey recognized a critical need for a space where children can congregate autonomously. Fox Den Third Space aims to fill that gap. We look forward to welcoming your family to our new space. Look for camp registration to open next month!
We at The Stage Oconee think that Fox Den Third Space sounds like a great place to get creative, be yourself, have fun, and make new friends! We can’t wait to hear about all of the opportunities available for students when the space opens in May. Keep an eye on their website, https://www.foxdenthirdspace.com/, for continuing details about their opening date and offerings!
Join us again next month when we feature another community creative space. If you’d like to have your group or maker space featured in an upcoming blog post, please contact Stephanie at stephanie@thestageoconee.com. See you in February!
